Interested in how the showcases were organised?
The PATH2DEA showcases were structured as representative case studies across various European farming systems, each reflecting distinct agroecological and production contexts. These showcases were selected to capture diversity in geography, farm typology and approaches to sustainability and digitalisation.
Each showcase engaged local actors—including farmers, advisors and research institutions—and focused on the integration of digital tools to support agroecological transitions. A common thread among them was a strong interest in sustainability, either through existing agroecological practices or a clear ambition to transition toward them.
The showcases were organised around two rounds of participatory workshops. The first round, conducted between late 2023 and early 2024, explored the usability of digital technologies in agroecology, identifying key drivers and barriers to their adoption. The second round, held in late 2024, aimed to gather deeper insights into the kinds of digital tools needed and how existing ones could be improved to better support producers.
Workshops were guided by shared methodologies and materials developed within the project and adapted to local languages and contexts. The data and feedback collected were systematically integrated into a digital tools database, allowing for ongoing analysis and knowledge sharing across the project.
This collaborative approach ensured that the showcases were not only grounded in real-world challenges but also contributed valuable insights into how digital innovation can be aligned with agroecological goals across Europe.
